Lyrics:
Rolling down a backwoods Tennessee byway
One arm on the wheel
Holding my lover with the other
A sweet soft southern thrill
Worked hard all week
Got a little jingle
On a Tennessee Saturday night
Couldn't feel better
I'm together with my dixieland delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Holdin' her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason Dixon night
It's my life
Oh so right
My dixieland delight
Whitetail buck deer munchin' on clover
Red-tailed hawk sitting on a limb
Chubby ol' groundhog
Croakin' bullfrog
Free as a feeling in the wind
Home grown country girl
Gonna give me a whirl
On a Tennessee Saturday night
Lucky as a seven
Livin' in Heaven
With my dixieland delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Holdin' her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason Dixon night
It's my life
Oh, so right
My dixieland delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Holdin' her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason Dixon night
It's my life
Oh, so right
My dixieland delight
Rolling down a backwoods Tennessee byway
One arm on the wheel

    1. They were the best country group America has seen for years. I miss these singers and the fiddler Jeff Cook.

This is how the country looked when I was growing up. The cars and trucks, how they’re dressed, that back road with the sun setting behind the trees, the old homes especially the one with all the chairs on the front porch and a clothes line out back, the tractor, the old store, even the saw mill. I watch this video often just to go back to a time when the world was a little kinder and sane.

  2. I’m from Brazil, my father lived in the USA he likes country a lot, especially from Alabama, since I was little I listen to this song with him

  3. Tennessee just beat Alabama 52-49. What a game. I’m a Georgia fan and I was emotionally attached to this game and seeing Bama lose is like Christmas.

Edit: Still relishing in Bama’s loss ?
Edit (again): Y’all actually thought y’all were gonna beat us (UGA)? Think again ?. GG’s though!

Well thanks to Tennessee beating Alabama, I’m listening to this after Twitter mentioned it was playing….anytime Alabama loses and their fans are upset at things is a good night…..Them being upset this played is even better.

This was played after Texas A&M vs Alabama game in 2021, and now just played in Knoxville after 16 years that Tennessee finally took a W over Alabama?

    1. Saroeut Soeung

Why would Texas AM play this? Is fitting for Tennessee but Texas? Doesn’t make any sense.

    2. Donnie Arnold

Alabama football doesn’t play it at games because it mentions Tennessee. Alabama is known as “The Heart Of Dixie.” It use to say that on car tags. Not anymore.

Absolutely love that the Tennessee Vols played this Alabama song tonight after the FG win over Alabama Roll Tide… In Tennessee… On a Saturday night… How ironic???….. Just seemed so extra special tonight after such a tough game for both sides. What a way to take this song back to Tennessee where it belongs.

This song now officially represents a 49-52 victory in Neyland Stadium on a Tennessee Saturday night! GO VOLS!!!

    1. joseph benson

@Timothy Jones and they haven’t since. i love it!!
give me my song back punk!! this song is about Tennessee anyway. LOL

    2. @joseph benson Thats because they only play it at night in the 4th quarter . It’ll be played against Auburn next week. It’s not going away.

  8. Dixieland Delight is a song about a Tennessee Saturday night. And on a Tennessee Saturday night in 2022 Big Orange took down a lowly pack of pachyderms at Neyland Stadium. I said it’s great…to be…a Tennessee VOL!

    1. This video is amazing. My first time viewing it. I’ve seen them perform live in concert, I think at the Concord Pavilion, if you can recall them performing there live. Though I forgot which year it was .

  9. Growing up in Michigan, we loved Alabama’s music. Their blue collar roots and rural America centered lyrics spoke to an entire generation all across the country. I’m thankful for YouTube to be able to re-vist these moments in time. I can still recite so many of their songs lyrics even 40 years later. Sad to read of Jeff Cooks passing. I hope he and the rest of the band recognized the profound impact they had on so many.

Just watched the best band live n Roanoke VA u done good boys miss you Jeff Randy u still got the Voice tell new fiddler thanks for all those years of practice.. Love to ALABAMA 50 more years the circle won’t be broken if u believe in Jesus Christ

    1. Marcos Bryant

@Candy Alexander that’s nice, so what’s your favorite hobbies beside listening to good music

I’m a metal head for life and usually don’t like country music but I can listen to this song multiple times a day lmao.

    1. I don’t understand why people need to give a full disclaimer when saying they like a country song. If you actually listen to the right songs they’re great music; you’ve just been taught to hate things that are part of your own culture if you hate country music as an American.

    2. JarJar Booty Reviews

@phubansno. I don’t like country music because it’s trash. Not because what anyone tells me. You act like it isn’t one of the most popular types of music lol. Just had to get your two cents in I guess.
