Lyrics:
The closer you get, the further I fall
I'll be over the edge now in no time at all
I'm falling faster and faster and faster with no time to stall
The closer you get, the further I fall

ALABAMA is the best ever! Still bring a smile to my face after all these year. LOVE THEM

    1. Edric William

Yeah such a romantic song it made me remember my late wife,so Tammy how are you doing?

Man I’ll tell you this was when country was country. Alabama had a true country sound and it never changed. I really miss these days because the country today doesn’t even sound like country anymore. I wish we could go back to country music like this. Or in reality this kind of country actually made sense.

  3. Shianne Conger

I was raised on Alabama Growing up as a child, my family was huge country music lovers. Alabama was one of everyone’s favorites.

  4. These are true songs, those of now do not have the soul and the warmth of these beautiful songs

  5. David Coleman

I grew up listening to these good one’s and it feels good to go back, and listen to them. They help you relax and brings back memories!!

  6. Rhonda Shinn

What a timeless, classic band. I remember seeing them in 1985 in Ft.Worth, TX. I was 9 months pregnant. Reba McEntire was their opening act. Such memories!

  7. Angel Walker

My mom was madly in love with Randy Owen. I remember I loved listening to Alabama with her. She went to a concert and I remember being so excited for her. I’ve grown and watched her beat cancer twice. She is my hero.

Hello Jennifer… How are you doing today…. ??????
And I hope you do stay safe due to the pandemic over there.?

  9. Reminds me of being a young boy in the early 1980s and riding in my parents car on road trips and this blasting from the cassette deck!!

  10. Alabama is largely responsible for the soundtrack of my youth. So many good memories. Thank you Alabama.

    1. Cosmic Kingdom

What a beautiful youth that must have been. I was just telling my buddy it must have been amazing growing up with Alabama, real country, and classic rock.

    2. Jennifer Rose

@Cosmic Kingdom it was awesome, real country and rock. Unfortunately it’s all dying out now:(

  11. Arguably the greatest country band ever. “Take Me Down” is a stunning piece of crossover country that still gets to me nearly 40 years later..
Those vocal harmonies are in league with The Eagles’.

    1. Joe's Classic Video Games

I’d like to hear the argument against it. There’s no country band even in the same conversation as Alabama. It’s not as if they’re the best, there’s nobody else even mentionable. Who are we supposed to compare them to, restless heart? They easily are the greatest country band ever, they had over 40 #1 hits, no band is even close to that.

It’s 2022 I’m 40 years old and this song still takes me back to being 10 and my grandparents dancing to this in the living room and it still brings a tear to my eye.

    1. Malena Tully

Same here… bring back childhood memories of my parents. Wow!! That was the best band ever, great songs- love them to this day…?

    2. Pamela Corley

Yep, it’s 2022 and I am 54 years old. It was in the 80’s and I was in the 8th grade when Alabama came out. All of us girls went nuts over them and went out and bought their shirts and wore them to school. I bowled on a Saturday Junior bowling league, and we had a Juke Box there, I would put my quarters in and play Alabama’s Mountain Music, The Closer You Get, Dixieland Delight, and Feels So Right. because you got four songs for a dollar. I still listen to Alabama today. I live just over the line in Georgia and have been over to Fort Payne, Alabama many times and they have been over to Georgia many times and I have been lucky enough to see them in concert. They will always be one of my all time favorite country groups.

The reason I like Alabama, 1) randy has a cool country raspy voice 2) both guitars really sound cool. 3) they have awesome 3 part harmonies .

  14. Tina Seymour

I was 16,dancing and singin and drinking wine coolers with this cassette playing in the background, ahhh memories

  15. Mike Grassman

Being an Alabamian, about 90 miles from where these guys came from, I’m proud to say they opened the door for many groups in the 80s and 90s.

  16. I just fall in love every day for Alabama Songs. I’am so happy to be alive while they still on road.
