Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief"
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no
Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer "More! More! More!" yoh
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, one
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no

@Eloge Wokmani WTF ?!
Its helicopters for me
This song is Anti-war but not Anti-soldier, so this song being associated with the war is actually right. Its the soldiers being ironic and saying: “look at me, i wasnt rich enough to dodge the draft, so here we are”. This song is a coping mechanism for soldiers
@Axel Brackeniers Goose-stepping wannabes are, at best, an example of America’s dubious credibility.
Invading a previously unknown land just to banish the supposed “red danger” your President fears is by no means a hero to be thanked.
Committed war crimes, lack of war reparations, also against Laos and Cambodia, and so on tell for the rest.
Trump was rich enough to dodge it.
Watch VASY IN THE HAY on youtube about poverty in Russia.
Yes y think as well
@James Silva Not just wealthy but the connections that go along with it.
Absolute masterpiece, so simple chords but amazing words ! God bless CCR.
A someone who was forced to practice this song for 3 months and then play this song Infront of a ton of parents I don’t know, I strongly disagree.
I am a 70+ year old geezer. I was sent to the gunline in Vietnam in 1972. I lost 23 brothers on the night of October 1, 1972. God bless them. Their names are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial wall down in D.C. We were NOT “fortunate sons”. I was a lower class blue collar kid from Jersey City. I was wounded but survived that carnage. God bless my fallen friends and may we never forget them! Amen.
War is never good. You didn’t learns your lesson from 23 people wth? You still proud old man? Being a communist/nazi isn’t much different now.
And how many poor farmers did you kill !!!! PS there is no god.
@Maarten Perdeck I just think of the exact same thing bud. Those stupid people who are proud to live after killing so many people who didn’t even had relationships with the country.
Us Iraq vets dont have much to complain about, you guys got it bad.
Brings me right back to those days of the draft, Vietnam, and how the Best boys were drafted because of their status in life!!! Fit perfectly during those times and continues with the message
Was the same in South Africa – I went to fight the Cubans in Angola at age 17….
Hello Patricia ??
I am from Romania, but i grew with Creedence! My dad played them in our car and home, he loved them, alongside with Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and others from 60-70’s.
Now…..when i hear Creedence, it gives me guusebumps <3. Very patriotic song!
Fortunate son isn’t patriotic… (to the usa) it’s almost opposite
Patriotic?
@JDMS its a hippy song mostly about the Vietnam war
@Indolent_Canadian yeah… so it’s protesting against a war
Some who were born in the 70s sure do love 60s music,
First heard this tune in Forrest Gump in a movie theatre in Beijing in 1995 ?????
Y love very much this music !
one of the great things about mr. fogerty is he put his ideals and opinions in his songs and that’s enough…
that man has solid gold integrity.
man the beat hit hard even every grandpa watch this they got flashback of the vietnam war

Good to see younger people respecting the older generations sacrifices and also questioning political reasoning for involvement. Perry
This is me! I served God Bless all the Soldiers

Creedence Clearwater Revival has to be in my top 5 favourite bands. Along with Guns and Roses, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Queen
I love this video
The drumming in this song is good. The tone of the drums is what makes it so good.
CCR were one of my favorites.Such a high quality of music, and powerful guitar accords.Remids me of the time the Vietnam war was raging. It’s also a powerful statement that all wars are useless and a crime in itself.
