The most difficult parts were keeping up momentum on the lip rolls and the agility exercise.

The agility exercise is still very hard, especially when lowering or heightening the pitch of your voice. On another note, I’m nailing the lip rolls part now.

The nasal “na” resonance and agility exercise were the toughest today, I think. I’ve noticed improvements in both tone recognition and vocal range. Although, my singing still sounds like the rattling last breaths of an old man. I’ll be sure to update when I’m the new Justin Bieber

A word of advice to those who rely on this channel for their exercise routine: find a vocal teacher, preferably an academic one, who is going to look after you and give constructive feedback. If you approach theses exercises unprepared, you will do more harm than good. You probably won’t ruin your voice, but you will definitely have a lot of unlearning to do, which is painfully difficult. Better do it once and do it right

Day 1 (Jan 4): The higher parts were hard.
Day 2 (Jan 5) : Getting comfortable with the higher parts and my voice is getting smoother and my runs are a bit easier to do and much more fluid. I’m noticing that my throat is feeling weird. Not burning, but slightly sore. It goes away after 10 minutes though!
I did the range extension twice and MAN! The second try made me realize my breath control is not very good.

I’m a voice actor and this is my go to vocal warm up when I’ve got auditions or a session, or even just getting over a cold and trying to get my voice back to normal.
The most helpful warmups in this set for me are definitely the lip rolls and the “nya nya” one (this one makes me feel like a cat, lol).
Anyway, I just wanted to say Thank you to Jacob’s Vocal Academy, and “You got this” to everyone practicing, no matter what your goals are!
Here’s a tip I use, especially for Range Extension, Resonance, and Agility: start the exercise in a comfortable range. When it gets too high, drop down an octave and keep going! Then, after the exercise turns downward, and it gets too low, jump up an octave and … keep going!

What you just defeat the whole purpose of range extension
Hmm. The point of /vocal/ exercises is similar to the point of /physical/ exercises. If you are weight-training or strength-training, do you start at the top end, or do you *work your way up*. It’s the same with vocal exercises! Yes, you push yourself, but not so much that you /hurt/ yourself! Sing as high / low / loud / fast as you can *without damaging your vocal instrument*. If you practice every day, the point that is “too high” or “too loud” will expand! (It’s really important to not damage your vocal instrument! It’s not like you can go down to Guitar Center and buy a new one cause you wrecked your old one …)

I’m using this to prepare for a musical production.
Day 1:
Struggled with the really high notes and really low notes, and on the lip roll excersise.
Day 2: Went quite smoothly, still struggling with high notes, need to watch out to make sure it doesn’t hurt so that my vocal chords aren’t hurt.
Day 3: Feeling down today, but still did this! Same as yesterday, but less strain on vocal chords. There are some bits where I sound higher than the actual key? But it may be because I’m a girl and my voice is high.
Day 4: Less strain on vocal chords, I tried to use my diaphragm a bit more.
Day 5: Did not confuse myself by going higher than the piano did! I’m struggling with the “nyeh!” excersise however. Today went much easier.
Day 6: Went tremendously smoothly, am I going to high on the “nyeh!” excersise? Or is just that when I say stuff nasally it’s ist naturally higher.
Day 7:
Day 8: Went as usual. This excersise gets shorter the more I do it!
Day 9: I struggled today.
Day 10: Could have done better.

Too tired to practice today. Planning to do an hour of it tomorrow.
