Randy is pure country, timeless. Listening to him never gets old. Praying he will make a come back as he continues to recover from his stroke. This is one of my favorite songs by Randy, he not only sang this but he wrote it. Terrific artist.

    1. It’s just a matter of time. Because I loved when he sang the low part at the end it made my bass speaker rattle ?

  2. It’s still hard to believe that several labels turned him down when he was first starting out. I couldn’t imagine country music without his influence.

Ok, so my Dad is a country boy, when I was little about 8yrs old I found a VHS tape of top
Country hits in our plethora of tapes.. I put it in.. had this song on it. This makes me smile to this day. I’m 38 now ?

Well, there were music executives that told George to take off his cowboy hat, so I don’t always respect music executives.

I’m only 15 years old, and I could listen to Randy Travis all day! More people in my generation have been fed nothing but “Bro” Country! This is real country music, and there is no one in this world that can tell anybody differently.

    1. Amanda Reicha

80’s and 90’s were the best country, right in the middle, late 80’s and early 90’s.

    2. Tammy Kotara

My daughter will be 18 soon and she cannot stand to hear today’s country music. But she doesn’t mind listening to old country.

  10. 43 years old, and this song puts tears in my eyes everytime I hear it. Sometimes in life, there’s a song that tells your story… This is that song. 16 years later, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. Perhaps in the next life, we’ll find eachother and make it work. Everyday is a struggle, but I always manage to pull thru. For those who can relate to this song, my hearts with you… regret is a horrible thing to live with. God bless

    1. I passed up on marrying my hubby because I didn’t trust him (he always had a bunch of girls around him or chasing after him) and we didn’t see each other for years and then we met again and got married. Been together now 15 years. Sometimes it’s just not the right time and you or they or both have other things to learn and experience first that will help you later on. We would have never made it long term if we tried to stay together when we were young. We had to get our wild stages out and see more of the world. We had to grow up so we could appreciate what we could have together. Had to experience a lot of stuff and go thru some hard times when we got together all those years later. We been tested many times but we come through together. It didn’t seem like it for a long time.. I always thought about him and wondered how he was doing and he me, but now looking back.. it was worth the wait. Even on bad days we know we are blessed to have each other. I don’t know it’s a happy ending or no because it’s not ended yet but it is wonderful now we journey together again. And it’s true too there’s possibly another love out there for you also. Sometimes it’s not what we plan or hope for but it’s even better than we imagined even if it’s different. The point is this: keep living life and growing and be the best you that you can be and one day when you aren’t even thinking about it everything will fall into place.
